Uganda joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Youth Day 2025 at the Masindi Golf Course Grounds, bringing together thousands of young people, government leaders, development partners, and stakeholders.

The celebrations were held under the theme “Youth Advancing Socio-Economic Transformation through Technology and Partnership.” President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who presided over the event, urged young people to take charge of wealth creation, embrace technology, and safeguard national development initiatives.

The President emphasized the importance of peace and stability as foundations for Uganda’s progress, noting that government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) are designed to empower citizens economically. He called on youth to actively protect public resources and participate responsibly in national development.

The event also showcased the impact of government youth programs including the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) and the Presidential Initiative on Skilling the Girl and Boy Child, which have supported thousands of young Ugandans with skills training and financing.

Youth exhibitions, innovation showcases, tree-planting activities, and community engagements formed a key part of the celebrations, highlighting the creativity and potential of Uganda’s young population.
