The AGM brought together elected representatives and stakeholders to discuss policy reforms, financial inclusion, and strategies to improve the wellbeing of older persons across the country.
Among the key outcomes was a call for supportive legal amendments to strengthen protections for older persons. Delegates also emphasized the importance of forming Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) as a means of promoting financial inclusion and collective empowerment.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the Council and government leaders to evidence-based decision-making and collaborative action in advancing the rights and dignity of older persons.
